Develop and validate PID controls, fuel schedules, protection logic, FADEC concepts, gain scheduling, and closed-loop responses for gas turbine systems.
Model single- and dual-spool turbojets for compressor and turbine matching, nozzle performance, thrust prediction, transient studies, and propulsion-system optimization.
Explore recuperated, regenerated, reheated, intercooled, and afterburning configurations to assess thermal efficiency, waste-heat recovery, emissions, and advanced propulsion concepts.
SimTurbo gives engineers and students a transparent way to build, parameterize, and assess aeroderivative gas turbine engine models. Its component-based graphical environment supports steady-state and transient physics, interactive diagrams, and real-time results on standard PCs. Examine how inlets, compressors, combustors, turbines, nozzles, shafts, recuperators, and afterburners work together, then export data for deeper post-processing in Excel, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python.

Aeroderivative gas turbines are engines adapted from aircraft propulsion technology for applications such as power generation, marine propulsion, and industrial systems. They are generally valued for high power-to-weight ratios, rapid starting capability, and modular design. Engineering analysis typically considers compressor and turbine matching, fuel use, ambient conditions, controls, transient behavior, and the intended load or propulsion duty cycle.
